
The conversation started like this:
Me: Wow, I've built a career out of launching brands for other people… [everyone says] I make a mean coconut macaroon… Maybe I should launch my own brand?
Also Me: We are nuts. Let's do it!
This is how it played out:
ROONS launched in September 2017, with one flavor (The original) and a goal to slowly grow our online retail sales. 4 months later we were awarded a contract with Alaska Airlines to put ROONS in First Class, started to sell wholesale across the country, were named Oregon's Hottest Food Startup, developed 8 new flavors, and started growing an incredible corporate gifting program. ROONS were sold in the US but shipped globally by our clients. We built a brand from the ground up and were able to leverage our passion for design and our passion for coconut+chocolate to create something spectacular.
From branding and packaging… to copywriting and web… to tv appearances, corporate gifting, scaling a company, developing new products and new sales channels, to art direction, food photography, you name it. It was a designer dream come true in every cense of the word.
